Why I Created The Future of Healthcare
Hello! My name is Nathan Dollinger and I am the host of The Future of Healthcare podcast as well as the creator of the We are The Future of Healthcare website. I am a recent college graduate pursuing going to medical school. I currently work in St. Louis as a data analyst working with health care organizations, health insurance companies, and employers to help create a better level of health in our community. Formerly I worked as an EMT for two years and was a cancer genetic research assistant at Ding Lab in St. Louis.
For many years I have been fascinated not only with medicine, but also with the shifting tides of our healthcare landscape. I personally feel that it is important as a future health professional to be observant of how changes in health policy, advancements in care practices and technology, as well as the changes in public awareness, understanding, and consumer behavior plays into our healthcare system. Realizing this I decided to create this podcast as a source of information for future health professionals to benefit from as well as spark conversation among peers about these topics.
I am excited to see where this journey takes us and I would love to have you be a part of it.
Tim Mayo: Co-Host
I’m Tim Mayo, and I’m a new member The Future of Healthcare team. I’ll be working in the background of the podcast, and from time to time, I’ll be joining in on the Whatever Wednesday conversations. My interest in medicine has accrued over several years as I have studied both health sciences and anatomy. The next step for myself is medical school in Fall of 2018. Until then, I’ll be lending my efforts as a teaching assistant at Creighton University School of Medicine.
As I’ve gained medical experience through my education and clinical exposure, I have become increasingly concerned with the amount of information available to healthcare consumers. At times, I find myself marveling at the volume of resources available. Through this podcast, I hope to provide clarity and direction for those striving to become better healthcare providers and consumers.
Bernie Lu: Co-Host
